Michelle’s Enchilada Sauce

This recipe is one my friend, Michelle, found and shared with me. I’m so glad she did! It is delightful…and easy…and cheap!

3 T. oil
3 T. flour

Get sauce pan hot, add oil. Once oil is hot, add flour and whisk.

Then add:
2-4 tsp. chili powder

Whisk well, then pour in:

2 c. chicken broth

Whisk well.  Heat and stir.

Add:

1 tsp. cumin
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 – 3/4 tsp. salt
1 pinch cinnamon
less than 1/2 tsp. sugar

Bring to a boil and then simmer for 3-5 minutes, whisking occasionally.

Use in place of any enchilada sauce
