Cajun Spice Rub

This is yummy when rubbed on shrimp or chicken before grilling or even on a pork loin before baking. You can adjust the level of heat by reducing (or increasing) the cayenne. I even like it sprinkled over roasted root vegetables. Yum!  It would make a great gift along with a locally-raised chicken.

½ c. kosher salt
¼ c. chili powder
¼ c. paprika
2 T. onion powder
2 T. granulated garlic
1 t. cumin
1 T. cayenne pepper
2 T. dried thyme
2 T. dried basil
2 T. dried oregano
1 T. black pepper
