This is a great starter recipe to involve your preschoolers in meal preparation. All they need to do is “dump” three ingredients into the slow cooker, and they’ve helped fix supper!
Beef roasts aren’t cheap right now, but they’re still more economical than eating out. Plus, you can use low-cost foods like baked potatoes, long-grain rice or some whole-grain bread with a veggie or two to “bulk up” this meal.
3 or 4 lb. beef chuck roast
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 can (14 1/2-oz.) stewed tomatoes OR 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) cream of mushroom soup
Put the roast in your slow cooker, then top with soup mix and tomatoes.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
