For a number of weeks, we have been filling our 110-gallon cattle tank via Amish Watering System. Something went drastically wrong with the water pump my husband installed in the barn last fall, and–due to freezing temperatures–we’ve been hauling buckets from the house to water our few livestock. Not fun, but certainly necessary.
Gloriously, the below-freezing temperatures have abated (at least for a time), and we were able to run a hose from the house to the water trough today. It was a beautiful thing.
Hopefully, even this arrangement will be temporary and Farmer Dave will be able to figure out the pump problem within the month.
Until then, we’re glad to give all of our buckets–and our arms!–a bit of a rest.
