Cleaning Up

We are preparing our home for the privilege of hosting three Chinese students for a couple of weeks. Our kids are eagerly moving down to the basement (aka Pit of Despair) so that our guests can have bedrooms, which means that dressers are being emptied, beds are being stripped and a good dusting and vacuuming are taking place.

Not only are my kids super stoked about this cross-cultural opportunity and sleeping in the basement, they are thrilled to find all manner of long-lost valuables–gifts cards carrying a balance, cameras, forgotten candy, coins, etc. I, too, am giving things a thorough once-over, but all I keep finding is dirt and more stuff that needs done.

Not fair.
