As I write this, it is Thanksgiving Day in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.
I am thinking about recent tumultuous events both within the borders of our nation and without.
I am thinking about the service men and women who are not with their families today or who are, perhaps, anticipating deployment. I am also thinking about their families who have stepped out of their own comfort zones to help their loved one honor a commitment made to both friends and strangers.
I am thinking about the veterans who have served and suffered, some sacrificing the most that they could offer.
I am thinking about the cost of freedom and what freedom truly means.
Thank you to all of you who have had a hand in providing the peace, security, abundance and freedom that my family and I enjoy. Thank you for the family get-togethers you have missed on our account. Thank you for the fears you have conquered on our behalf. Thank you for the situations you have endured and the scars you carry. May you be blessed for your faithfulness to the commitment you made.
Challenge: Go out of your way to thank a serviceman or veteran today. Resolve to show more appreciation to these folks in the future.
